Extrusions
CB Frost offer custom made extrusions from a range of polymers, each with a unique quality, and therefore suited for specific applications. Our extrusions are manufactured in both solid and sponge form in materials such as Silicone, Neoprene, EPDM, Nitrile and Viton, and can be supplied in coil form, cut to length or even fabricated/bonded to form gaskets.
Extruded Gaskets
Producing bonded extruded gaskets is a complex process. We can supply seals with either a hot splicing or vulcanised joint. These are techniques that use heat, pressure and film splice or uncured rubber to join the ends of profiles.
Extruded Vulcanised Seals
Vulcanised joining is a reliable, cost-effective process for joining sponge or rubber profiles. Applications include O-rings, tubing, rectangle/square profiles and is best suited for low volume quantities rather than high volumes.
Extruded Hot Spliced Seals
ot splicing uses thin film and either a conventional heat source or infrared (IR) light to produce a sound bonded seal. We can provide seals that are flame retardant, chemical resistant, Military grade, FDA and to British Standards
Approved Standards
Dependant on material type, we provide products that meet recognised standards including:
EN45545-2
BS6853
LUL (London Underground)
FDA (food and drug administration)
British Standards (BS)
Please call our sales team for advice if your product needs to meet a particular standard.

Tape
CB Frost produce vast amounts of sponge, foam or rubber strip/tape every year and cater for small, medium and large runs. Our machines have the capability to strip materials from 3mm wide up to 1mtr wide in most standard thicknesses.
Adhesive Backed Tape/Strip
CB Frost can supply tape or strip with a pressure sensitive adhesive which can be applied to either one or both faces. We have a selection of tapes to suit most requirements; low tac, high tac, scrim and waterproof are just some we can offer.
Adhesive tape can be applied to all our sponge, foam and rubber materials. The adhesive comes with an easy peel release liner which you simply remove to expose the adhesive. This face is then placed on to the substrate and firmly pressed to obtain the bond needed.
Cut To Length Tape/Strip
Sponge or rubber strips are mostly supplied as continuous rolls. At CB Frost we have the capability to cut to length, which can save you time and money.
Product Specification
We understand every industry is different and have their own specific requirements. CB Frost hold large stocks of various materials and thicknesses and try to ensure we cater for most applications. Talk with our sales team, who are here to help you with your requirements.

Overseas Sourcing Of Rubber Moulded Components
In some instances, it is worth considering overseas production, this could be due to cost or quantity involved. CB Frost have a reliable and trusted partnerships with several suppliers built up over a 10-year period and manage the process from start to finish.
How Does Compression Moulding Work?
The compression moulding manufacturing process involves placing the raw compound into the moulding cavities of a pre-heated tool (see image below). The desired shape and size of the component will affect the shape of the tool cavity, as well as how much moulding material will be required. In order to ensure that the correct amount of material is used, it is weighed before being placed into the cavities of the moulding tool. Once the correct quantities of the raw material have been placed in the tool cavities, the mould will be closed, and the compression moulding process can take place.
Heat and pressure are applied to the moulding, allowing the raw materials to form the desired shape. The mould remains closed until the compression mouldings have cured (set). The amount of time needed to complete the moulding process depends on the type of material being used, the temperature that it is moulded at, and the size of the component.
At CB Frost we have vast experience in creating mouldings to a set specification for a range of industries. Our team are able to advise customers as to the best type of material to utilise for a particular project, and we aim to meet fast lead times at all times.
