2019 at CB Frost

It has certainly been a busy year for CB Frost, and a hectic year for UK industry as a whole. With big changes on the horizon for us in the new year, we have taken this time to look back at 2019 through our blog posts and company news.

Investing in the future

Our first big announcement for 2019 was our investment in a new high-speed cutting and kiss cutting machine, which will allow us to increase the efficiency of our manufacturing processes and increase production.

Once the new machine is up and running, it will be operating at speeds of up to 100 strokes per minute, helping us to maintain accuracy whilst also increasing our cutting capacity considerably. A further benefit of the new machinery is that we will be able to reduce scrap material, saving us a considerable sum in the long term.

Supplying the agriculture sector

Early this year, we wrote about our range of materials to suit sealing applications within the agriculture sector. Our knowledge of the demands of the modern farming industry, especially with regards to sealing applications, and our in-house manufacturing capabilities mean that we are well placed to supply durable and effective components, such as gaskets and washers, compression moulded components, and extruded components.

Expansion and Relocation

Our biggest news of the year came in May when we announced our plans for the next phase of CB Frost’s history – our expansion and relocation to new premises in Birmingham. Work has been underway at our new home for some time now, and despite some setbacks, as is often the case, we are looking forward to providing an exciting update on our progress in the near future!

Rail Industry Technology Roadshow

During June, we had the fantastic opportunity to join the Rail Industry Technology Roadshow, taking in some of the major rail industry manufacturing sites in the UK, including Alstom, Hitachi, Bombardier, Siemens, Network Rail, and CAF.

Throughout the roadshow, we worked in partnership with Armacell to showcase their Armaflex® Rail SD range of high-tech closed-cell thermal insulation material, specifically designed rail industry applications such as HVAC insulation. EN45545-2 compliant, Rail SD materials are fire-retardant, with low smoke generation properties.

The event was a great success, generating over 500 contact details and more than 152 enquiries – we were especially happy to hear from the event organisers that we topped the list of exhibitors in terms of the numbers we generated.
