Die Cut Sponge, Foam and Rubber Gaskets, Washers and Strip
Our die cutting facility allows us to produce flat pressed parts, including gaskets, washers and strips, and cater for quantities ranging from custom one offs to small, medium and large volumes. Our machinery allows us to produce small intricate gaskets, to larger, more complex shapes of up to 2 metres long.
With over 150 years live service experience at CB Frost combined with our extensive die cutting facilities, you can trust us to deliver. Our team has the experience and technical knowledge to help design and develop the correct solution for your application. To ensure the highest quality of finished product, whether it be a gasket, seal, washer, or strip/tape, we have a range of specialist machinery to turn to.
For the ultra-high-speed processing of thinner materials which need to be through cut or kiss cut, our high-speed die cutting press provides a sophisticated but easy to use production solution. Running at up to 100 strokes per minute, the hydraulic operation, rigid construction, and precision depth of cut produce accurate components with a clean finish, ready to be packed and sent to customers immediately. As a result of the accuracy of the machine, scrap material is also much reduced, which will create considerable cost savings in the long term.
The range of applications high speed gasket cutting machine include:
Kiss cutting has several advantages over individually cut through parts. Kiss cut, self-adhesive products can be rewound with the scrap web automatically being removed leaving a clean, finished component. Peeling the part off the adhesive release liner is considerably easier than removing the liner from an individual part, this helps increase production throughput.
CB Frost regularly kiss-cut gaskets and pads from most sponge and rubber materials, including silicone sponge, silicone foam, silicone rubber and Poron®.
At CB Frost, we have the machines to easily strip materials ordered from us into tape or strips.
We understand that every industry is different and have their own specific requirements. CB Frost holds large stocks of various materials and thicknesses and we try to ensure we cater for most applications. Talk to us on 0121 773 8494, if you are concerned about any industry specific modifications.

CB Frost produces vast amounts of sponge, foam or rubber strip/tape every year and caters for small, medium and large runs. Our machines have the capability to strip materials from 3mm wide up to 1 metre wide in most standard thicknesses.
CB Frost can supply tape or strip with a pressure sensitive adhesive which can be applied to either one or both faces. We have a selection of tapes to suit most requirements; low tac, high tac, scrim and waterproof are just some we can offer.
Adhesive tape can be applied to all our sponge, foam and rubber materials. The adhesive comes with an easy peel release liner which you simply remove to expose the adhesive. This face is then placed on to the substrate and firmly pressed to obtain the bond needed.
Sponge or rubber strips are mostly supplied as continuous rolls. At CB Frost we have the capability to cut to length, which can save you time and money.

At its most simplistic definition, a bandsaw is a saw with a long blade that consists of a continuous band of metal with saw teeth, stretched between two or more wheels. The blade is more of a ribbon, as it is constantly rotating along the wheels, similar to a cassette tape. While the blade is continuously moving, only a small part of it is exposed in the cutting area. The blade comes up through the flat surface of the table, which is where the workpiece is moved into the saw to create cuts. The small size of the blade allows for detailed, intricate cuts.
A motor is used to power the saw, and most models contain some adjustments that let you expose more of the saw blade for bigger workpieces, adjust speeds, and allow for mitered and angled cutting depending on the saw’s table surface and features as well.
Having these capabilities allows CB Frost to offer diverse and unique solutions for their customer base.
CB Frost operate two bandsaws, each one having its own specific use
With a bed size of 1700mm x 740mm it was designed to handle and cut heavy duty rolls of rubber and other robust materials.
Has a larger bed size of 1790mm x 1790mm to handle large foam blocks, sponge and foam rolls and cutting off foam and sponge pads. The bed has a coating on the surface to help materials slide more freely over the surface to help cutting.
We have the capability to cut the following materials to specification using our in-house bandsaw:
