- Apply pressure: Adhesives are pressure-sensitive. After placing the silicone sponge strip or gasket, uniform pressure must be applied (often via a roller or press tool) for a few seconds to ensure maximum contact between the adhesive and the substrate.
- Allow for dwell time: While the initial bond is immediate, the adhesive requires time to fully cure and reach its ultimate bond strength. The dwelling time will differ depending on the material and type of adhesive.
