At CB Frost, we have formed a relationship with American speciality materials company Rogers Corporation to provide a range of high performance silicone materials that are ideally suited to applications within the rail sector.
As a Rogers preferred converter, our range of BISCO® cellular silicones are designed to meet the most stringent industry requirements for fire, smoke and toxic fumes:
- British Standard BS6853 category 1A for low smoke and toxicity
- LUL for the London Underground Network
- NFF 16-101
- European Standard EN 45545
In addition to supplying a number of specialist rail materials, we can also manufacture a wide range of products for the rail industry in house:
Door Seals
HT800 and BF2000 silicone sponge are well suited for use as door seals. In addition to enhanced sealing performance and excellent compression set, these materials also feature a high resistance to UV and ozone and comply with Fire, Smoke and Toxicity (FST) standards such as BS6853 and NFF16-101.
Smoke Seals
Our MF-1 and BF1000 silicone foam are commonly used in the manufacture of smoke seals for the rail industry. Both materials feature an extremely high level of compliance with FST standards and superior compression sets, allowing them to be squashed into extremely small areas and then recovering their original shape.
Gap Fillers
We can provide a number of materials that are ideal solutions for sealing gaps. HT800 silicone sponge, BF1000, BF2000 and MF-1 silicone foam comply with FST standards and exhibit a high level of resistance to compression set.
Seating Cushions
MF-1 silicone foam is commonly used in cushioning applications as its comfort and sustainability make it a long term, cost-effective solution. In addition to this, MF-1 also features exceptional compliance with FST standards and can be cut and fabricated to meet your specific requirements.
HVAC Seals
HT800 silicone sponge, BF1000 and BF2000 silicone foam are ideally suited for us as seals for heating and air conditioning applications.
Lighting Enclosure and LCD Display Gaskets
HT800 silicone sponge, BF 1000 and BF2000 silicone foam are amongst the best suited materials for lighting enclosure and LCD display gaskets. These materials comply with FST standards and protect electronic devices from the penetration of dust, moisture, air and light.
Vibration Isolation
HT800 silicone sponge features a compact cell structure that enhances the reduction of shock and helps to isolate vibration for electronic components, but also transportation vehicles, providing a smoother passenger ride. HT800 also complies with FST standards including BS6853 and NFF16-101.
Acoustic Barriers
To help reduce the noise level in the interior spaces of rail cars, HT200 sound block silicone is well suited as a sound insulator. It is FST compliant and can help to reduce sound on wall panels, flooring and ducting within rail carriages.
