Our roots span over 95 years as a specialist in the rubber and plastics industry, with a heritage strongly entwined with the beginnings and growth of the commercial plastics industry itself. Established in 1921, the family-run CB Frost & Co began work at the forefront of rapid development in plastics and mouldings, as at this time, the German chemist Hermann Staudinger, was able to reveal the molecular composition of plastics. The surge in new research surrounding the material, resulted in a number of new plastic products being designed throughout the 1920s and 1930s, including nylon, Lucite and Teflon.

Not only were the CB Frost family able to take advantage of the exciting developments in the market to form their own new rubber and plastic products, they set up their growing company at the heart of the whole industry. Birmingham is in fact the birthplace of commercial plastics, with the first patented plastic material created in the region in 1856, by Alexander Parkes.

CB Frost

Though no longer a family-run enterprise, CB Frost & Co has continued to use its deep-founded connections with the industry and its roots to delivering ‘quality without compromise’, to become a leading British rubber and plastics manufacturer. Over the years we have furthered our expertise and knowledge in the field to produce components in an extended range of materials, including Neoprene, EPDM, PVC, Polyethylene, Poron and Silicone.

Since its formation, it’s been the company’s aim to always strive to improve in all aspects, from technology, material development and equipment, to streamlining our processes, so that we now cater for various industries worldwide. Our high performing materials and bespoke, carefully manufactured products, are used by companies in more than 10 market sectors, such as Rail, Construction, Medical and Electronics. For each sector we have experienced, dedicated staff and have developed valuable relationships with partners, to ensure we can provide the best service for our loyal customer base.

From our small beginnings, we have grown with the evolving plastics industry and built key partnerships, being a preferred distributor for Bostik and working with the Rogers Corporation to provide a range of specialist silicone materials ideally suited to the Mass Transit Industry. Now, with over 100 years’ experience, CB Frost & Co is widely known for its consistent excellence and reliability in the quality of products and services offered, which we only hope to improve upon as we continue to lead in the industry.
