100 Years

In March 2021, we will celebrate our 100 years anniversary. From small beginnings in 1921, to our relocation and expansion last year, we are extremely proud of our achievements over the last century.

Whilst so much has changed since 1921, we have always strived to stick to the original CB Frost ethos of ‘quality without compromise’. Formed in Birmingham, the city of a thousand trades, our history has been very much interwoven with the birth and development of the commercial plastics and rubber industry itself.

CB Frost

Originally a family owned business, in the early years, CB Frost were able to stay at the forefront of the fast developing market, developing new rubber and plastic products to grow the company alongside the industry as a whole. Whilst we are no longer family owned, our values have remained the same and we have always strived to stay ahead of the curve to become a leading UK rubber and plastics manufacturer, supplying an ever growing range of high quality products to customers around the world, in a number of sectors, including:

  • Rail
  • Construction
  • Solar
  • Agriculture
  • Lighting
  • Military
  • Automotive
  • HVAC
  • Enclosures

CB Frost Matrix Point

In the last 5 years, CB Frost has been subject to several major changes  that will have a significant impact on our next 100 years as a company:

  • In 2017, we underwent a seven-figure management buyout, led by Paul Kennedy and Mark Jones, existing technical and sales directors respectively. In our commitment to future growth and expansion, this buyout allowed us to focus on expanding our business into new sectors, as well as further investing in our plant and machinery.
  • In 2019, we invested in a new high speed cutting machine to improve our efficiency and output for a wide range of products.
  • In 2020, despite the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, we completed our expansion and relocation to a new, larger facility at Matrix Point, Birmingham. This move allowed us to commission our new high speed cutting machine and considerably increase our productivity.

As well as working to constantly improve our processes and invest in new technologies, we are proud that as a company, we also endeavour to develop our staff and many members of our team have been with us for a number of years.

On our anniversary, our Business Development Manager, Daniel Brock said:

“My career with CB Frost started a decade ago now and it really is a pleasure to talk about how far the company has come not only in the past 10 years, but in its entirety. From humble beginnings to a brand-new facility just on the outskirts of Birmingham City centre, this speaks volumes of the company’s history and indeed success.

“Having also invested over £250k in the last 12 months, this demonstrates that senior management are not resting on their laurels and are very much looking forward to the next 100 years. It is an exciting time to be part of the CB Frost family and I am looking forward to organising an open day for our customers to showcase exactly how far CB Frost has come.”

Edward Booth, CB Frost Sales/Quality Manager, another longstanding member of the CB frost team, added:

“Having been with the company now for 12 years, I have seen the business grow from strength to strength, accumulating in moving to new state of the art premises which truly reflect the professional outfit CB Frost are.

“The investment from senior management is a testament to their “continual improvement” programme, covering the whole company, from sales, production, quality, through to health & safety.

“In its history the company was once family owned and senior management continue that ethos to this day.”

We look forward to the next century of providing ‘quality without compromise’ for all materials, products and services.
