Rolling Stock Networking: Connect with CB Frost at RSN 2026

At CB Frost & Co, we don’t believe in waiting around when a great opportunity knocks. That is exactly why we signed on the dotted line to secure our exhibition stand for Rolling Stock Networking (RSN) 2026 soon after last year’s event.

This year’s RSN event takes place at Derby Arena on Thursday, 2nd July.

As a specialist rubber and plastics manufacturer, and preferred converter for Rogers Corporation (a relationship spanning over 30 years), we supply a wide range of high performance EN45545-2 compliant products to meet the most stringent demands of modern rail applications, including Rogers’ world-class BISCO® Silicones and PORON® Urethane materials and Armacell’s ArmaFlex® Closed Cell Insulation Foams

RSN is always a highlight of our calendar as it’s a prime opportunity to showcase our bespoke solutions and expertise.

What is Rolling Stock Networking?

RSN is the UK’s largest international rail show, focused entirely on the essential details that keep the network moving. The exhibition specifically targets:

  • Passenger and Freight Rolling Stock
  • Technical Enhancements and Innovation in the Rail Industry
  • Depot Equipment and Ancillary Services
  • The Wider Rail Supply Chain

What makes RSN stand out in a crowded exhibition calendar is its unique philosophy. It’s free to attend and is designed to offer market access to companies of all sizes. Whether you are an OEM or a highly specialised SME like us, the event provides a level playing field to showcase capabilities to the entire rail sector.

We were fast to secure our spot at RSN 2026 due to the fantastic atmosphere of collaboration that we have experienced in previous years. Each event provides a great networking platform, with a focus on innovation and achieving shared goals.

You can find us this year at exhibition stand E2.

RSN 2026

Here’s what we are looking forward to in Derby this year:

  • Catching up with clients: We love catching up face-to-face with our long-standing rail clients, finding out what challenges they are facing this year and how we can support their upcoming projects.
  • Meeting new faces: With buyers and suppliers from across the passenger and freight sectors all under the same roof, it’s the perfect place to spark new partnerships.
  • Support the next generation of rail professionals: We’re proud to be part of an event that invests heavily in the future of the rail community.

Let’s Collaborate in Derby

As we finalise our stand preparations, our focus remains firmly on how we can add value to your next project. From fire-retardant silicone sponge to bespoke sealing solutions that withstand the toughest rail environments, we’re ready to show you how we keep the industry safe and sealed.

If you’ll be at Derby Arena on the 2nd of July, our team will be at Stand E2 all day, so drop by, say hello and grab a coffee with us. We’re excited to chat and explore how we can support each other to drive growth and technical excellence in the rail industry. See you there.

CB Frost & Co at RSN 2024

Exhibiting at RSN once again provided a prime opportunity for us to showcase our expertise to a large rail industry audience. It was great to see so many old friends from within the industry, and to make so many valuable new contacts. This year was a major success for CB Frost & Co – More than 60 visitors came to our stand, resulting in 2 sales made on the day and 8 additional enquiries. We also found that the range of CB Frost branded freebies that we gave away on the day were extremely popular!

RSN 2024

CB Frost & Co business development manager gave a glowing review of the 2024 Rolling Stock Networking show:

“Well, what can I say? This year’s RSN show was the best yet. We have had a lot of success exhibiting in previous years, but this year certainly stands out, with record numbers of visitors to our stand, plus enquiries and orders to boot.

“The event again showcased its importance to the rail industry due to not only the sheer numbers of visitors, but the quality of said attendees also. From Engineers to Purchase Managers and MDs, all visitors were keen to learn more about CB Frost and our Capabilities.

“We are already booked in for next year’s exhibition. Roll on RSN 2025!”

The next Rolling Stock Networking show will take place on the 3rd July 2025 at Derby Arena.

Exhibition Season – CB Frost at RSN 2024

RSN 2024

It’s an exciting time for CB Frost as our team gears up for the summer, starting with RSN 2024, which takes place at Derby Arena on 4th July.

Now in its fifth year, Rolling Stock Networking (RSN) is the UK’s largest international rail industry exhibition, attracting rolling stock businesses from all over the world. Primarily focusing on passenger and freight rolling stock, depot equipment, ancillary services and technical enhancements across the wider rail industry and supply chain, RSN provides the opportunity for a wide range of organisations to exhibit their products and services.

RSN is a free to attend event, attracting a high footfall each year, so it is always an excellent opportunity for CB Frost to present our extensive range of high performance products and materials and showcase our manufacturing capabilities to visitors. With over 150 exhibitors taking part in RSN 2024, we expect it to be a busy day and look forward to making many new contacts.

As well as placing us face to face with such a large audience, the Rolling Stock Networking event is also always an ideal opportunity for us to stay on the pulse of innovations in the rail industry supply chain, as well as speaking with rail industry colleagues and existing contacts.

Speaking at last year’s event, business development manager Daniel Brock highlighted not only what CB Frost can do for the rail industry, but why exhibiting at RSN is always a great opportunity for us.

“We specialise in everything rubber, sponge and plastic for interior solutions for rail car manufacturers, so that may be door seals, window seals, extrusions, mouldings and gaskets. A one-stop shop for everything plastic, sponge and rubber.

“We get to speak to key decision makers, influencers and the people who actually handle our products on a day to day basis. They’re the people we want to speak to, they’re the people that we need to see on a daily basis to introduce our company and showcase our full range of capabilities.”

After an extremely successful summer of events in 2023, from which we gained a large volume of new industry contacts and won substantial new contracts, we are excited to exhibit at RSN 2024.

If you are visiting this year’s exhibition on 4th July, CB Frost can be found at stand E4. We look forward to meeting you. If you have any queries prior to the event, please do feel free to get in touch with our sales team.

Changes at CB Frost – A Look Back at 2023

changes at CB Frost

As the end of the year approaches, as well as looking forward to the new year, we always like to take the opportunity to look back on the key events of the past year. 2022 was an important year of changes at CB Frost as we entered the electric vehicles market and developed a range of products for the EV/HEV batteries. 2023 also proved to be another eventful year, with an increased number of events to exhibit at, along with welcoming new members to the CB Frost team.

Elliot Beech Joins CB Frost as Sales Engineer

As a company committed to constant growth and development, we were delighted to welcome Elliot Beach to our sales team early this year. With over two decades of sales experience, Elliot has proved to be an excellent fit.

We had been seeking to bolster our sales team for some time, and it had proven quite difficult to find the right person, however, after meeting with Elliot, it was clear that he was the right person.

Success at the Rail Industry Technology Roadshow

In March, the Rail Industry Technology Roadshow returned after a 3 year absence. The event, spanning two weeks and taking place on a travelling, state of the art trailer/exhibition space, included a number of events at rail industry sites around the country.

In addition to closed events specifically for rail industry site staff, this year’s roadshow included open events where members of the public were invited to attend. During a public event at Siemens, Goole, our Business Development Manager Daniel Brock was interviewed on BBC Radio Humberside, which you can read more about here.

Samco 70 Series Beam Press

In the spring, we added a new cutting press to allow us to produce larger gaskets in a shorter time period, allowing us to provide better lead times and pass on savings to our customers.

Introducing the Samco 70 series beam press to our gasket cutting facilities has allowed us to increase our production capacity at all times, providing us with more choice over which cutting press will be used for each production run. With our new press delivering excellent results in lower volumes of larger sized gaskets, our high speed cutting press is available for high volume production runs.

A Lucrative Rail Industry Contract

Successful connections made at this year’s Rail Industry Technology Roadshow directly led to a new £120k manufacturing contract to supply machined parts to a rail OEM.

Having had fruitful experiences at the Rail Industry Technology Roadshow in 2019 and 2023, we are very pleased to be signed up to exhibit again in 2024.

Our New Tool Room

Whilst die cutting is a key part of our business, until this year, our die cutting formers had long been supplied by Flexi-formes. When the ownership of Flexi-formes decided to retire, we took the opportunity to build a tool room on site at CB Frost. In addition to purchasing some of the machinery from Flexi-formes, we also welcomed John Mayo to our team. Having worked for Flexi-formes for over 35 years, John has brought tremendous knowledge and skill in manufacturing cutting formes to suit the wide variety of materials and cutting presses we work with at CB Frost.

By bringing our tooling manufacturing processes in house, we can now deliver even faster lead times for gaskets, washers and other die cut products.

After a fantastic year of changes at CB Frost in 2023, we are now full steam ahead into the future and planning for another fruitful year in 2024. Technologies develop fast and industry trends are always changing, so as always, we will work tirelessly to deliver the best possible products and services to our customers.

CB Frost Awarded Lucrative Rail Industry Contract

rail industry

Following on from the success of the Rail Industry Technology Roadshow, 2023 has so far been a very positive year for CB Frost and we are pleased to announce that thanks to the new connections we made at the roadshow, we have been awarded a new £120k manufacturing contract.

After an excellent experience at the roadshow in 2019, we were extremely optimistic about exhibiting again this year. As an SME supplying and manufacturing an extensive range of specialist materials and products for the rail industry, such events provide an excellent opportunity to connect with rail OEMs and showcase our manufacturing capabilities.

We reported in March that we were able to speak to over 300 people, obtain more than 500 contacts over the duration of the event, and received five enquiries and three non-disclosure agreements to receive additional enquiries. In May, we are very pleased to say exhibiting at the 2023 Rail Industry Technology Roadshow has directly led to a £120k contract to supply machined parts.

Having been on site for both weeks of this year’s roadshow, CB Frost Business Development Manager Daniel Brock said:

“Being awarded this contract is excellent news for CB Frost. Not only is this new contract from a brand-new customer, the lead was generated from the connections made at the Technology Roadshow.”

Following another fruitful year of exhibiting, CB Frost have already secured their place for the 2024 event.

“CB Frost has exhibited at the past two tours of the Rail Industry Technology Roadshow and following our latest successes, we are very pleased to be signed up for a third time in 2024.

Visit CB Frost at Rolling Stock Networking

On the 6th July 2023, CB Frost will again be on the road, exhibiting our full range of rail industry manufacturing capabilities and making new connections at the Rolling Stock Networking (RSN) Railshow, taking place at Derby Arena. The event is free to attend and you can find the CB Frost team at Stand E4.

rail show RSN 2023

Like the Rail Industry Technology Roadshow, RSN 2023 provides a valuable networking platform, allowing us to talk to customers of all sizes and showcase the wide range of EN45545-2 compliant products we can supply and manufacture for rail customers. We look forward to meeting new contacts and strengthening our existing relationships.

Looking ahead to the next railshow and reviewing the year so far, Daniel Brock said:

“RSN 2023 provides another great opportunity for us to reiterate the wide range of our manufacturing capabilities to representatives from all areas of the rail industry.

“2023 is shaping out to be a great year all round. From continued investment in our manufacturing capabilities, adding to the sales team, and now being awarded a large contract, it certainly vindicates the hard work that all the team have put in over the past 12 months, and with another chance to exhibit on the horizon, we are very much looking to the future and spreading our ethos of Quality without Compromise.”

A Look Back at 2021 at CB Frost

CB Frost 2021

With the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, 2021 has certainly brought many challenges for CB Frost, our suppliers and our customers. However, despite this, it has been another important year for us.

Let’s take a look back at the last 12 months.

Celebrating our 100th Anniversary

100 Years

In March of this year, we celebrated 100 years of CB Frost, looking back at our small beginnings in 1921 and the development of the business alongside the rubber and plastics industry as a whole, through to our relocation and expansion last year and the launch of our new website early this year.

Needless to say, the company has been through many changes over the course of a century, but one thing that has remained constant is our ethos of ‘quality without compromise’. We work constantly to develop our processes and technologies, as well as developing our staff.

Make UK Defence

To increase our network of defence industry clients and increase our manufacturing output of specialist parts for land and naval divisions of the Ministry of Defence, we joined Make UK Defence, the defence division of the Make UK manufacturer’s organisation.

Our membership allows us to benefit from access to defence insights, as well as the chance to attend networking events to build new MoD connections and gain advantages over competitors. With the MoD being the only government department granted a 4 year spending settlement and £16.5b budget increase, our Make UK Defence membership is key to us winning competitive advantage over overseas defence exports.

90 years of Neoprene Rubber

As well as celebrating our own 100 year anniversary, we also took the opportunity to look at the 90 year history of one of our most popular, durable and versatile materials – Neoprene.

Developed by American company DuPont and first introduced to the market in 1931, Neoprene has continued to be a popular choice for design engineers ever since. At CB Frost, we supply Neoprene Rubber and Neoprene Sponge in a range of grades and thicknesses to suit many applications.

Neoprene is highly resistant to weathering, extreme temperatures, compression and chemicals, making it an ideal choice for an extensive range of applications, including insulation for wiring, vibration damping, sealing and pressure gaskets, insulation strip/tape and cord.

New Overhead Press

overhead press

Since moving to new premises in 2020, we have continually worked to expand our production capabilities whilst maintaining the same excellent levels of quality. This summer, we took delivery of a newly refurbished model TH-35 overhead press, which is equipped with a range of user friendly features.

Adding a further cutting press to our manufacturing facilities has allowed us to considerably increase our production levels, whilst also giving us the flexibility to choose between a range of cutting presses for each production run.

Rolling Stock Networking Event, Derby

CB Frost

Despite this being only the second indoor live rail show of the year as a result of restrictions earlier in 2021, it was an extremely successful event and we were kept busy by visitors throughout the day (as well as in the following days as we contacted new leads!).

Following the excellent response to CB Frost’s stand, we wasted no time in booking our exhibitor spot at RSN 2022.

The future for CB Frost

With 2022 just around the corner, we are excited for what the future holds. To learn more about our range of materials, products and services, browse cbfrost-rubber.com or to discuss your requirements, call us today on 0121 773 8494 and our friendly team will be happy to assist you.
